Trip to the Dells
Each year our family takes a fun filled trip in late July/Early August. This year we headed for the Dells. 1st stop was Jamestown Campground.
Day 2, we headed to Aberdeen, SD to meet up with an old college friend of mine. We took the kids to Story Book Land, and they had a blast.
Follow the Yellow Brick Road
Then we headed over to Lacross Wi to camp in my dad's back yard. He has a lovely yard full of trees. Way nicer than any campground we stayed in on our trip. While in Lacross, we swam in the Mississippi River on French Island, took the kids to the splash park, and went go cart racing.
Dad on the beach. Trust me, he never takes those Rail Road clothes off. It was 95 out. Dont know how he does it.
Beautiful swim area on the Mississippi
My 1st attempt at wearing a two piece suit.
Like mother like daughter
Swimming in the river
Bethany at the splash park
Lacross has many beautiful parks along the river. I was amazed at the amount of people who just go from park to park to park. We spent the afternoon doing just that. The kids loved the splash park. SO awsome to keep cool.

So much to tell, So little time.....
I have tons to write, and even tons more pictures to share. Unfortunitally, I have little time these days. I've been trying to make the most of the last days of summer, as Grant and Micaela will be starting school this comming week. August 20th, is in my opinion, way to early to start school.
We had an absolutely wonderful trip. I hope to get those pictures posted this week. We also just had Grant's 7th bday party at the Legion Baseball Field. It was an awsome party. The kids ate hotdogs, & chips, opened presents, ate cake and played a t-ball game. I hope to have those pictures posted as well.
Today was an eventful day. Grant had been complaining of a sore throat for a couple of days, and had been running a minor feaver.I am not one to run to the clinic with every ach and pain, or trust me, I would be there ever other day. I usually let a cold run it's course and after a week, if it isn't better, we go in. Grant however woke up around 3 this morning just crying of throat pain. His throat was so swullen, he couldn't even swallow his spit. I took him to Williston to the ER, and we got the report that he had strep. Poor boy. Doctor said his throat was 99 % closed. He had to have two shots in the legs. They gave him both steriods & antibiotics. It was a really rough day. I felt so helpless. He is resting comfortably now, but we have to keep a close watch on him. They worry about kidney damage and function when you have strep, so we have to monitor his urine. They also worry about damage to the heart, so they want us to see Dr. Kemp next week. Strep is common, but in small children, there is a lot that strep can damage. I really had no idea that Strep was so deadly. I got my Strep lesson today.
Tomorrow I go to Bismarck for another check up. I have been so miserable with fluid accumilation again. It comes and goes, and now, I am just fed up. I don't sleep at night, and moving around is painful. It has been 9 weeks now, and enough is enough. I guess we just have to wait and see what the doc says. Wish me luck.
Well, time to hit the hay. Say a prayer for Grant.
