Fun Summer weekend

This weekend the peeps and I went to Bismarck to take in a little theatre action at the outdoor Sleepy Hollow Theatre in Bismarck
The theatre was a special treat.
You bring your own lawn chairs and sit outside. The kids really thought this was neat, and the fact that the play was the classic "Annie," made it even more fun.

Bethany watchin the play

Saturday morning, we awoke and went garage sailing.
After finding a few good finds, we went to the park for a picinic, before heading to Ragging Rivers Water Park.

Me and the peeps at Ragging Rivers

Fun in the sun for the girls

Grant found it especially fun to ride doubles on the big black water slide. Down again and again went him and micaela. Mom and Bethany found it more exciting to be "bums" in the lazy river.

Just chillin

On Sunday, the kids headed to the Threshing Bee to spend the day with daddy.
Daddy always works so hard running the show. He really does a great job managing the bank at the historical society.
The kids watched the parade and participated in the tractor pull. I am happy to report that Grant took 2nd place and won him self a collector's John Deere Tractor.
With a crazy 4.5 weeks until School resumes, we are trying hard to soak up as much summer as we can.
The kids just finished 2 weeks of swimming lessons, a month of t-ball, and now we start bible school, and summer school. Micaela will be going to summer school an hr a day for the next two weeks to help aid in her reading.
I hope everybody is enjoying Summer. It just marvels me that I have only had to run the centeral air 2 times... I would much rather have the heat now than in September when the kids are in school. Bring on the heat!!!!
House projects are comming along. Upstairs all painted and ready for carpet....

Making a House a Home

Well everybody, this is my new house
608 1st St South
Moving into a new home can be a big adjustment. It is even a bigger adjustment when you move into a new home, & get divorced all in a fast paced 10 days.
It really is amazing how fast this whole life ultering transistion happened. I am starting to deal with things better, and crying less, so I think it wont be long until this new house, will infact, become a new home for me and the kids. :)
The house has a very nice size living room with french doors into a office/den, dining room, kitchen with breakfast nook, 1 bed & bath on main level, and a nice built in window seat in the living room. Upstairs it has 2 big bedrooms, tons of closet attic space, and a bath and shower. Basement has 2 bedrooms, family room, laundry room, bathroom, & unfinished bedroom.
It has been an adjustment to move into something quite a bit older than my house on the farm, but it is slowely but surely becomming home. Lots and lots of projects to do, but it is going to take lots and lots of time and money, so one thing at a time.
Garbles are comming to carpet the upstairs, so am trying my best to get everything painted. They will also be putting lino in the bathroom upstairs and in the bathroom on the main level.
Here are the before and after pics of the bathroom I just got done painting..

Before Bathroom on main level

After bathroom on main level

As I get more and more projects done, i will post more pictures. It is kind of fun to see the befores and afters.

This weekend Kurt has the kids, so a friend and I are going tent camping in Medora. Needless to say neither of us has ever put up a tent, so if anything this trip will be filled with laughs. Wish me luck!!!!

Have a great weekend everyone!!!

4th of July weekend

Every year the kids and I always try and get to Watford City for a fun day of swimming.
Just so happens it usually starts out our 4th of July weekend. I think we will call it tradition. :)
The temp in watford on July 2nd was a hot 97 degrees.

Saturday July 3rd, we got all dressed up and headed to Williston for the 4th of July parade and BBQ in the park.
It was kind of sad this year because daddy was gone to his 30 year reunion in Devils Lake, so he missed the fun day.

While in Williston, we went to the parade, Penny & Pals concert in the park, free hotdog BBQ, did some garage sailing, and went swimming.
The kids were so tierd from Watford City the day before that they all crashed hard before 8:00 p.m.

Kurt joined us at the cabin on Sunday the 4th.

"Captain Kurt" took us all boating and tubing, so we all had a great day.

The 1st time the kids all rode together on the tub.

Sunday night we all had a nice family supper, did some fireworks, and watched the big blacktail fireworks show. For those of you who have never seen it, please drive over sometime. It is amazing.
All in all it was a nice weekend. Kurt had a nice time at his 30 yr reunion, the kids and I had fun doing festive red, white and blue activities, and we all gathered on the 4th as a family.
