Easter 2010

Easter weekend got off to a real nice start on Thursday night, when Grant and I went to Maundy Thursday church service. I am very proud of Grant. He pays very close attention in church, and last Sunday he had heard the pastor mention Maundy Thursday and how Jesus washed all of the people's feet. Our pastor offered to wash all who wanted their feet's washed, and Grant was very fascinated by this. He insisted that just him and I attend church. I have never seen a boy glow as much as he did at church that night. It was a very nice service, and I felt like a million bucks following the sermon.

Friday the kids and I went to Williston and spent an afternoon shopping for Easter gifts. The kids were good, but it would have been so nice to have an extra pair of hands to help.

Saturday I was busy as a bee getting the house cleaned up. This time of year, I am forced to play the "single mom" roll, and things get very piled up. With the weather as nice as it was, the kids were able to play outside for 3 hrs straight. It was so nice to get the extra things done. That afternoon, we took the kids to the Easter Egg hunt in town. Chalsey and Brad Anderson, our friends from Estevan also came down for the event. The hunt is always short, and sweet, but the kids filled their baskets, and had a lot of fun.

After the hunt, I took the kids to town so they could scooter around, and then we all went to Mr. K's as a family for supper. Then it was home to bed. I stayed up playing the Easter bunny, and Kurt worked until a late 4:00 a.m. It was nice however for him to sleep from 4:00 until 7:30 and wake up with the kids, so that they could hunt for their baskets.

After the Easter hunt, we drove to Estevan for Easter brunch. It was a very nice and sweet way to spend Easter. We hurried home, so that Kurt could get back to work, and the kids bounced in between outside and inside. They were all very excited to play with their new Ninetendo Ds's. Never have the kids been so appreciative. It was truely worth it to see them so happy. We spent a little more than usual, but with such a long tax season, and so much time away from Kurt, it was nice to see them glow.

This evening, I got the convertable out, and took the kids for a ride. I am thinking that I am going to drive it more this summer. It was a lot of fun. :)

Well all in all, Easter was very nice, and things were great.. So many wonderful things to be thankful for. A great husband, beautiful children, and amazing friends. Thank you Jesus for dying on the cross so that we could all be saved. :)

Happy Easter Everybody!!! More pictures to come....
