Grant's 8th bday

I still dont know why blogger wont let me upload my pictures, but it is really starting to tick me.. uggg

Anyhow, Last Saturday we celebrated Grant's 8th birthday out at the golf cource. This year he wanted a golf party, so we let the kids hit golf balls. They had a lot of fun. I was a bit upset with the fact that it was 98 degrees and the wind was blowing terribly, but the kids all had fun, so it worked nice. Grant got a lot of nice gifts, and the day turned out to be rather special for him.

Wednesday I took the kids to Minot for Grant's actual birthday. The plan was to go to Roosevlet park pool, and then to Oak park splash pad. Much to our suprise both were closed. I mean, come on people, school doesn't start in Minot for another week. So we ended up at the Sleep in Splash down pool. Kids were happy as can be. We wrapped it up with a trip to Aliens for supper and presents. This year, I let Grant decorate his own cake, so we brought that along as well. A very fun birthday indeed.

Thursday school started. I sure wish we could start around the 26th of May vs the 20th and go back a week later, but what do i know. I know it was hot, and the kids were anxious to jump in the pool in the backyard after school. :)

I got both of my garages cleaned out this week, and ready to go for winter. I also have been working at the preschool getting ready for school to start. Always a busy busy bee chasing and keeping up with my peeps, runnning here, and there, manning this new house, and now being independent... Never a dull moment in my life.. lol

This weekend I just plan on hanging out at home. The kids are with Kurt at the cabin, so I am hoping they get one last nice weekend at the lake.

End of summer

Last weekend was my last weekend of escape as the kids started school today. A friend and I went to Minneapolis and saw a twins game, and enjoyed a day at the water park. Oh ya, cant forget outlet mall shopping.. lol

Sadely, blogger wont allow me to post pictures.. uggg I have no idea why. If you would like too see the many new pictures I have, visit me on facebook. I put several new picture albums up.

Well school has started, so summer is pretty close to offically over. Wont be long before we are back to our run run run schedules.. I am just glad I dont start preschool until September 21st, so I can enjoy a bit more free time. Well as free as you can call it. Lots of endless hours at the preschool to prepare before the 1st day.

Our house is finally getting some finishing touches. Carpet and lino are in upstairs and in the bathrooms. kids' beds are here now, and their rooms are done. Just a lot of painting and misc. stuff to be done.

All in all, things are going well. Still forcing my smile each day, but one day I have faith it will come on its own.

Camping trip August 2010

On Friday August 6th, the peeps and me, along with my sister Heidi and her son Jacob, went camping at Fort Peck, Montana. Their lake is absolutely beautiful. Water is crystal clear. The camp sites are very secluded with trees, and the bathrooms are awsome. Oh, ya did I mention that it is only $10 a night for tent camping. No water or electric, but so so nice....

With temps nearing 100 Fri, sat, & Sun, it was a great time to be in the water. Gosh, i could have stayed there forever...... It did storm Friday night, and the tent got blown around some, but it was an adventure.

Kurt on the other hand had a seminar in Rapid City, SD and then took him self an ever needed mini trip to Utah to visit his friends. It's taking me some getting used to having him do his own things, but it is getting better. :)

While in Fort Peck, we took the kids to the dinosaur museaum. The kids had a lot of fun, and it was free. Can't beat that. I wish I had pictures to show, but unfortinately my phone wont send pics, and my camera wont download.. I am in total picture withdrawl.. haha

This comming weekend, I am taking my much needed time away. Going to take in a twins game in Minneapolis, and hit the outlet mall for school clothes for the kids. Go way to wrap up the summer.

All is good here, and the kids are happy. Can't say they are 100% healthy because they did get the stomach flu this morning on the way home from the lake, but it is getting better. Oh ya, I cant forget to mention that my fridge quit while I was gone, so I had to throw out over a hundred dollars in food. Go figure, I just stocked up last Thursday. Anyhow, if anybody has a used fridge for give away, please let me know. Can't use a cooler for very long.. uggggg
